While Fraser's is highly favored, occasional comments surface regarding the atmosphere. Some diners report feeling uncomfortable due to unwelcome stares from other customers, detracting from their meal enjoyment. Noise levels during peak times can also become overwhelming, particularly during busy Friday evenings.
A few patrons find the pricing a bit high for takeaway, with some feeling that portions could better justify the cost. Specific critics mentioned a perceived lack of value when ordering fish and chips, particularly when compared to other local chip shops that offer larger sides at similar prices. Overall, while the food quality remains undisputed, the ambient experience could use a little fine-tuning.
Lovely chippy with a large menu, sweet and sour chicken balls and chips were delicious, fish bites were huge and tasty too! Kind staff (Danielle!)! Definitely recommend and will come back again.
Oh lordy... we were recommended by the guest house we were staying in as the place to come for fish and chips. Everyone else in the queue obviously had the same idea. We had to wait for about 15 mins, but you know what they say. Good things come to those who wait. Great food, would recommend also to other people. Think we'll have to come back!!! Thank you again :)
Had to knock at least one star off for atmosphere as one the regulars was rudely staring at me and then a woman came and sat down and started coughing .. so I decided to take the food out rather than suffer anymore . The food was great.. but £9.80 for fish chips and peas to take away wouldn't get me going back for more ...
When all other chip shops compensate for tiny fish with portions of chips that are obscenely excessive, this place is a breath of fresh air that serves up sizeable cod and a good amount of thick-cut chips - best bang for your buck!
Sat down to eat the best fish & chips I had in Cumbria since moving here 25 years ago I have always had takeaway else were but not as good as these lovely friendly staff too that made it all nice thank you very much ❤️
Lovely service. Great size fish. Recommend x
Great place to get some fish and chips. We sat outside. The chips were delicious. Great piece of fish. Nice vinegar. Friendly staff. Next to car park and close to harbour. Recommended if in the vicinity.
